Update Galaxy S3 I9305 LTE With Android 4.4 Kitkat ROM

Good news for all Galaxy S3 I9305 LTE device users, now you can enjoy the Android 4.4 kitkat on your smartphone. Thanks to XDA developer team, who released the new unofficial CyanogenMod 11 ROM that brings the KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy S3. The ROM is not the official build from the Samsung, it is a custom ROM based on the latest build of Android 4.4.

The ROM is packed with all the latest features of the Kitkat. If you’re the Galaxy S3 I9305 users and want to install this new update on your device, then here is the guide which you can follow to get the kitkat on your phone. The guide is only for the Galaxy S3 I9305 LTE models, don’t try this method on any other S3 models. You must first confirm its model no. in ‘About device’ option under Settings. Go to the Settings page of your phone and see the About Device section, It must be GT-I9305

As we mention above this one is the Custom ROM, so you will lose the warranty of your device.



Pre-requisites and Requirements

b) Once the backup files are saved on your device or on your desktop, Enable USB debugging mode on your device, read the guide here how to enable USB debugging mode.

c) Make sure that your Galaxy S3 battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Galaxy S3 drivers on your PC and install it to start the update  process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

How to Install Android 4.4 KitKat on Galaxy S3

To Flash the ROM on your device, you need to install the CWM recovery on your S3. Install it first and then use the guide below. Link of Latest CWM recovery.

Step 1.
Download the Android 4.4 KitKat ROM for Galaxy S3 I9305 here and save the ZIP file on your desktop. Don’t unzip the file.

Step 2. Download the latest Google Apps package here and save the zip file on your desktop.

Step 3. Once both the files are downloaded, connect you phone to the PC and move both ZIP files on your phone SD card.

Step 4. Turn off your phone and boot in recovery mode. To do this Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together and release them as soon as you see the Galaxy S3 logo.

Step 5. Now you are on CWM recovery main menu screen, from here first Select Wipe data/Factory reset, then select Yes.

Step 6. Now Select Install zip » Choose zip from sdcard. First select the ROM file that you download on Step 1 and after that Google app package that you downloaded on step 2.


Step 7. Once both the files are flashed on your phone, do Wipe data/Factory reset (Same as you did above on Step 5)

Step 8. Now go back to recovery main menu and reboot the phone by selecting the reboot system now option.

That’s all. Now you phone is running on the Android 4.4 KitKat ROM.
