How to Update Galaxy Note N700 with Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 ROM

There is no news from the Samsung end that when they are going to release the new Android 4.4 update for Galaxy Note N700 devices. But there are so many other ways which you will use on your device to get the taste of Android 4.4 KitKat. Recently, XDA member, herna, shared the guide to update Galaxy Note N700 with Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 ROM. CM11 ROM is custom firmware and not the official release form the Samsung. If you are the Galaxy Note user and want to try this new CM11 ROM on your device, then follow our step-by-step guide to update your Note N700. The below mention tutorial is only for the Galaxy Note N700 users, don’t try this method on any of your other android devices.

Before you begin do take the full backup of your device and save all you important files on your SD card or on your desktop. Once the backup process is done, follow all the below mention instruction very carefully and follow them step by step on your device and desktop.

Pre-requisites and Requirements

a) Before following the guide do take the Full Backup of your Android Apps, SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, Bookmarks. Looking for more ways to get the Backup your android device click here. b) Once the backup files are saved on your device or on your desktop, Enable USB debugging mode on your device, read the guide here how to enable USB debugging mode.

c) Make sure that your Galaxy Note N700 battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Galaxy Note N700 drivers on your PC and install it to start the update  process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

After following the above mention steps follow the below mention guide one by one to update Note N700. All the above mention steps are very important, so do follow all the steps and do exactly what is told.

Update Galaxy Note N7000 to Android 4.4 KitKat

Step 1. Download the Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 ROM on your desktop. [File name:]

Step 2. Download the Google App package here and save it on your desktop. [File name:]

Step 3. Now connect your device to PC with USB cable and Copy Gapps and CM11.0 ZIPs to your Internal/External SDcard.

Step 4.
Once the files are moved on your device, Boot your device in Recovery Mode ( To Flash these files on your Device you need CWM recovery, to install the CWM recovery on your device download the Goo Manager application from Google play store). To boot your device in recovery mode, Switch off your Note N700 and Press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together and release them once the Galaxy Note logo appears on the screen.

Step 5. Now you are on CWM recovery main menu screen, from here first Select Wipe data/Factory reset, then select Yes.

Step 6. Now Select Install zip » Choose zip from sdcard. First select the ROM file that you download on Step 1 and after that Google app package that you downloaded on step 2.


Step 7. Once both the files are flashed on your phone, go back to recovery main menu and reboot the phone by selecting the reboot system now option.

That’s all. Now your Note N700 is running on the Android 4.4 KitKat CM11 ROM.
