Unlock Bootloader of New HTC One 2014 (M8) – [Guide]
The new HTC One M8 is here and comes with some of the best spec and features. Powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3GHz, 5-inch display with 1080p full HD resolution at 440ppi. The device is new in the market and most of the users are looking for the way to unlock bootloader of HTC One 2014 (M8). Once the bootloader is isntalled you can install custom recoveries, custom ROMs, mods etc. If you recently bought the device, here is the simple guide to unlock the bootloader.
The process of unlocking the bootloader is similar between all HTC devices, you can also follow this guide on any of the HTC android smartphone.

CHECK PHONE MODEL
This guide is only for the HTC One 2014 (M8) android smartphone. Don’t try this method on any of other Android devices, It may hard brick your device. So, first confirm your phone model number in your android phone settings. To do this Go the Settings page of your device and check out the “About Device” option.
PRE-REQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS

1. BACKUP YOUR ANDROID DATA

2. INSTALL HTC ONE 2014 (M8) DRIVERS
You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide. Without these USB drivers you can’t connect your device to the PC, first download and install these drivers on your system.
3. ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE
Now you need to enable USB debugging mode. Without enabling USB debugging mode on your device you can’t start the root, Custom ROM or Unlock process.
4. CHARGE YOU ANDROID
If your device switched off during this process, it could damage or brick the device. Make sure that your Android battery is full charge or near about 50-70% battery level.

HOW TO UNLOCK HTC ONE M8 BOOTLOADER
Step 1. Download the Fastboot file here for the HTC one here.
Step 2. Now visit ht HTC dev site here and register your account first.
Step 3. After the registration, visit the HTC bootloader unlock page here and select your phone model and click on the Begin Unlock Bootloader. Agree to all the terms and conditions, and proceed further.
Step 4. After following some steps it will ask you to disconnect mobile from the PC if connected and then switch off the device. Then press Volume Down button and Power button to start the device in Bootloader mode. Once your device is on bootlaoder screen, after that follow the below mention instruction carefully.
Step 5. Connect you device to PC with USB cable and open the fastboot folder on your desktop that you downloaded on the Step 1.
Step 6. Open command window inside the folder. Press Shift + Right click on any empty white space inside the folder and then select Open command window here
Step 7. Now enter this command on the window fastboot devices and press enter. If your HTC one drivers are installed correctly, then your HTC One should show up in the command prompt. If your device shows you can go ahead with the next step.
Step 8. After this, Enter the following command in the CMD window to acquire your device token.
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Step 9. Now you will see an output token. Right click inside the CMD window and click on Mark. Select everything from <<<< Identifier Token Start >>>> to <<<< Identifier Token End >>>>. Right click again to copy the text.
Step 10. Now open this link on your browser and scrol down to the very end and you will see a My device Identifier token box. Paste the token code here. And then click on Submit.
Step 11. After this HTC will send you an unlock code to your registered E-mail address. Open your email and download the attached Unlock_code.bin (This is your device’s unlock code).
Step 12. Now move the Unlock_code.bin file in the fastboot folder. And type the following in the command window:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Step 13. Your phone will ask you to confirm, agree.
Now the phone will reboot and the bootloader will be unlocked.
