How to Root / Unroot Xiaomi Mi3 Android (No loss of warranty!)

Xiaomi Mi3 Android is latest smartphone in india form the Xiaomi. The phone is packed with some great specs and features with MIUI Android ROM. Recently i bought the device from the Flipkart store and impressed with the features of the device. From last few days am using the same and yesterday i rooted my device to install some rooted applications and mod on the device. So today in this guide we’ll show you how you can easily root your device without using any third party tool or any other application. All you need to make some change on your device and flash the develop ROM. The best part of this guide that this will not void the warranty of your device. So lets take a look how to root he Mi3 android phone.

Root- Xiaomi Mi3 Android


This guide is only for the Xiaomi Mi3 android smartphone. Don’t try this method on any of other Android devices, It may hard brick your device. So, first confirm your phone model number in your android phone settings. To do this Go the Settings page of your device and check out the “About Device” option.

If your device switched off during this process, it could damage or brick the device. Make sure that your Android battery is full charge or near about 50-70% battery level.

Step 1. Visit the Mi3 official page here and Download the Official Developer ROM for your device and rename the file to

Step 2. Now connect your phone to the PC with USB cable and move the update zip file to the phone SD card.

Step 3. Now open the updater app on your device and press the Menu button – Select installation file/Select Update package.


Step 4. Now search the update zip that you copied on the step 2 and hit the install button to start the flashing process.

Step 5. After updating is completed, select Reboot now to enter the new system.

Step 6. Now developer ROM is installed on your phone. To get the root access, open the security app from the home screen and click on the Permission icon.

Step 7. From this screen enable the enable the “Root Permission” option to get the root access on your MI3.

That’s it, now the phone is rooted and you can enjoy the benefits of rooting on your phone.
