Hi, great guide you made here. It was easy to follow and i took some screens along the way if any need some visual guiding. What comes after the phone have been rooted. Everything seems exactly the same as before beside the kernel and base version. Pretty much newbie with this root stuff :-)

  • Carolena

I am completely new to the smartphone world, and though I am fairly technicaly savvy I am no IT wizz by nobody´s standards. I love my fairly new galaxy s3 to bits but am really fed up of all the bloatware (learned that word yesterday!) so decided to root my phone to get rid of some of it. I have done all the steps listed above and as I waited for my phone to charge to the level you mentioned I though I´d read up on the pros and cons of doing this and now I´m a bit scared… I just want to root it to remove a hand full of app such as Flipboard, Game Hub, Chat on, Video Hub and S Suggest, but I have read a load of stuff about how you can then leave your phone open to this and that attack. My question now is can I root it, remove the bloatware, then unroot it? Or will that brick it?(also learned that yesterday!)

    Great guide by the way.

Hi. I have the S3 mini GT-I8190L, baseband I8190LUBALJ7, Android 4.1.2 This phone was purchased in Mexico in a pinch, and now need it to work in Canada.

Will this fix work on my phone, or do you have one for this model? The service it was attached to was Telcel in Mexico.

  • Billy Scobbie

The link for the i8190N Can’t be found anymore. Updated link?

  • Adil Said

how do i remove root from my phone? Just incase if i mess something up?

  • ET

Great tutorial.. but before I even try to consider it- can I make a 100% backup of the phone before rooting? Like making a ghost of an hard disk (Norton Ghost, Acronis etc).
As far as I see it, the app you mentioned is for backup of selected items and not the whole OS + installed apps + order of app in the lancher etc.
If it’s not possible and I will try to proceed exactly as the guide says, will my apps and the other stuff stay as they are now or I’ll have to start from fresh?
