HOW TO ROOT NEXUS 5 ON ANDROID 5.1.1
Step 1. First you have to unlock the bootloader of your phone, Read this guide how to unlock bootloader on Nexus devices. If you already unlocked the bootloader of your device, then leave this step and follow the step 2.
Step 2. Download Fastboot files here on your desktop and extract the folder. You need these files to run ADB commands.
Step 4. Download Super SU V2.46 for Nexus 4 and copy this file on your phone.
Step 5. Now Movie the CWM img on the Fastboot file folder that you download on step 2.
Step 6. Now open the Fastboot folder and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).
Step 7. Now Boot your phone in fastboot mode. First turn off the phone and Press Volume Down + Power keys for a few seconds till you see some text on the screen. This is Bootloader Mode.
Step 8 Connect your phone to the PC and run the below mention command:-
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-188.8.131.52-hammerhead.img
Step 9. Once completed, choose RECOVERY from the Fastboot menu and enter Recovery Mode.
Step 10. In ClockworkMod recovery, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card”
Step 11. Choose the SuperSU-v2.45.zip file that you copied on your phone in step 4.
Step 12. After the installation completes, “Go Back” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the Recovery menu.
