Root and Install CWM Recovery on Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Pre-requisites and Requirements

b) Once the backup files are saved on your device or on your desktop, Enable USB debugging mode on your device, read the guide here how to enable USB debugging mode.

c) Make sure that your   Galaxy Note 3 is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Galaxy Note 3 USB drivers on your PC and install it to start the root process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

Install CWM Recovery on Galaxy Note 3

Having rooted your Galaxy Note 3, you can also install ClockworkMod recovery on it. Please note that all the below mention steps are mandatory and important.

Step 1. Download the ClockworkMod recovery for Note 3 from below mention links. Choose the correct model number file.

Note 3 SM-N900: n900-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.8(0929).tar

Note 3 SM-N9005: n9005-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.8(0929).tar

Note 3 SM-N900S: n900s-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.8(0929).tar

Note 3: SM-N900T: n900t-cwm-recovery-6.0.3.7(0925).tar

Step2. Download the ODIN Flash tool on your desktop and extract the folder.

Step 3. Switch off your Note 3 and boot the device in download mode. Volume Down+Home+Power to boot – if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button.

Step 4. Once you device in Download mode, connect it to the computer with USB cable and run the ODIN application on your desktop.

Step 5. Now you should see the blue sign in Odin screen, that means your phone is connected successfully and ready to update.

Step 6. Once the Galaxy Note 3 is connected with the ODIN application, Click the PDA button, and select n900*-cwm-recovery…….tar file

Next, ensure that the check boxes “Auto Reboot”, “F. Reset Time” and “PDA” are the only check boxes checked and the rest are not. And Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked on the ODIN application.

Step 7. Then click the Start button and Wait for Android to boot.

Now you will disconnect your device form the computer. Now you have a rooted Galaxy Note 3 with ClockworkMod recovery installed on it.
