CHECK PHONE MODEL
This guide is only for the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 android smartphone. Don’t try this method on any of other Android devices, It may hard brick your device. So, first confirm your phone model number in your android phone settings. To do this Go the Settings page of your device and check out the “About Device” option.
PRE-REQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS

1. BACKUP YOUR ANDROID DATA

3. ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE
Now you need to enable USB debugging mode. Without enabling USB debugging mode on your device you can’t start the root, Custom ROM or Unlock process.
4. CHARGE YOU ANDROID
If your device switched off during this process, it could damage or brick the device. Make sure that your Android battery is full charge or near about 50-70% battery level.

HOW TO ROOT GALAXY S4
Step 1. Download Philz touch recovery for Galaxy S4 here.
Step 2. Download ODIN v3.09.
Step 3. Now boot your device in Download Mode. To do this Press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together, and then press the Power button till you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. Press Power again to confirm to enter into Download Mode.
Step 4. Now connect your phone to the pc with USB cable and run the ODIN application on your desktop.
Step 5. Now click the AP button (in case if you are using Odin3 v3.09 ) or PDA button (in case you are using an older version) of Odin.
Step 6. Browse the Recovery file that you downloaded on Step 1.
And make sure that Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time check boxes are selected in Odin. Also, ensure the Re-Partition option in Odin is not selected, check it ONLY if you selected a .PIT file in the above step.
Step 7. Click the Start button on Odin to start installation with might take a few seconds.
Step 8. Once the installation is done you will see the “PASS” message with green background on the ODIN application. and then your device will restart immediately after the process is completed.
Step 9. Now Power off your phone first. Press and hold Volume Up + Power + Home together until you see Warning screen with Android logo.
Once you are in the Philz recovery, go to Philz settings ? Re-root System and select Yes Apply SuperSU.
Step 10. Reboot the device from the recovery menu and install SuperSU app from Google Playstore.
Step 11. Open the SuperSU and he should ask you, how do you want to update binary? select NORMAL
