Install Android 4.3 on Galaxy S4 – I9505XXUEMJ5 Official Firmware

Today Samsung rolled out the new Official Android 4.3 Jelly bean update for Germany Galaxy S4 I9505 users. The new Android 4.3 update comes with lot of new features and improvements such as New Samsung Keyboard, New Samsung Browser, GALAXY GEAR Support, Samsung Wallet, Improved Display color reproduction, New Camera firmware, UI tweaks and much more. Currently the update is available only for the Germany Galaxy S4 I9505 users and very soon the update will available for the other regions. To update your device go to your Device settings > About Phone >> Software Update. If you have the rooted phone then this method will not work on your device, then you have to instal the update manually. Today in this guide we will show you how to update Galaxy S4 manually with the Android 4.3 Jelly bean I9505XXUEMJ5 official firmware.

This guide is only for the Galaxy S4 I9505 users and don’t try this method on any of your other Android phone. You must check your device’s model no. in ‘About device’ option under Settings. Before following the guide do take the backup of your device and save the backup of you important files in some safe place. Three Methods to Update  Galaxy S4

2. Update Samsung Android phone Via OTA Feature. To do this, go to your phone Settings >> About Phone >> Software Update

3. If  both the above mention method will not work on your device, then follow this method. Manual method with ODIN application. Follow the below mention tutorial to manually update your device.


Pre-requisites and Requirements

c) Make sure that your Galaxy S4 battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Samsung USB drivers on your PC and install it to start the update  process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

Step by Step Guide to Install Android 4.3 on Galaxy S4

Step 1. Download the Latest Official Android 4.3 Firmware form the below mention links:-


Now extract the folder on your desktop.

Step 2. Download the ODIN flash tool on your Windows Desktop and extract the folder on your desktop to proceed.

Step 3. Turn Off your Galaxy S4 and Wait 4for 5 second and boot the device in Download mode. To do this press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons. Press Volume Up button again to enter into Download Mode.

Step 4. Once your phone in Download Mode, Connect your phone to the pc with USB cable and run the ODIN.exe file to open the application on your desktop.

Step 5. Once the phone is connected you will see the blue sign in Odin screen. Now form the ODIN Screen Click on “AP” button on Odin and select the “I9505XXUEMJ5_I9505OXAEMJ5_I9505XXUEMJ5_HOME.tar.md5” file (File that You downloaded on Step 1)


Next, ensure that the check boxes “Auto Reboot”, “F. Reset Time” and “PDA” are the only check boxes checked and the rest are not. And Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked on the ODIN application.

Step 6. Now Hit the Start button to start the update process on your Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505.

Step 7. Once the updates process is finished on your phone you will see the PASS message on your ODIN application screen and your device will reboot, disconnect your Galaxy S4 from PC.
