Pre-requisites and Requirements

c) Make sure that your Sony Xperia Z battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Sony Xperia Z USB drivers on your PC and install it to start the root process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

Update Sony Xperia Z with Android 4.3 JB based Avatar Custom ROM Firmware

Step 1. Download the Avatar Custom ROM Firmware from here and save the file on your desktop.

Step 2. Now Download the Google Apps package from here and save it on your desktop. You need to false this file to install all the Google application on your phone.

Step 3. Once downloading both the above files, connect your phone to the computer with USB cable and move both the downloaded zip files (Without extracting) in the device.

Step 4. Now unplug your device, Switch off your phone and boot in recovery mode to do this press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together. The recovery mode will be entered and the same will be indicated. Or read here How to enter in Recovery Mode.

Step 5. Once the device in recovery mode, select “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvick cache”.

Step 6.
Now Go back to the recovery main menu and choose “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”. First install the Avatar Firmware and after that Google App package.

Step 7. The installation process will take 5 to 8 minutes on your device, once the process is completed go back to the recovery main menu and select “reboot system now” and you are done.

That’s it, Now your Xperia Z is updated with the Android 4.3 JB based Avatar Custom ROM Firmware.
