Steps to Follow Before Following the Rooting Guide

a) First and important thing is to take the backup of your device, read our guide here how to Backup Android contacts, SMS, application, Call logs and more.

b) Make sure that your phone battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

c) Download the latest HTC Drivers on your desktop and install it.

d. Enable USB debuggin mode on your HTC one, To do this go to Settings>> Applications. From there navigate and click on Development option and check the USB Debugging Mode.

How to Install ClockworkMod/TWRP recovery on HTC One

Step 1. First you have to unlock the bootloader of yoiur HJTC one, Read the complete guide to Unlock the bootloader of HTC one.

Step 2. After unlocking you device you are ready to install recovery on your device.

Step 3. Download the latest Android SDK drivers from here and install it on your PC.

Step 4. Download CWM Recovery v6.0.3.2 or TWRP v2.6.0.1 on your desktop.

Step 5. If you are using fastboot drivers (Which you use to unlock the bootloader), then move the Recovery file to the same folder. If you are using the Android SDK directory then copy the Recovery file to platform-tools folder to start the process.

Step 6. Now navigate to the folder where the Recovery file is saved. Also, open a Command Prompt [Shift + Right click] at the correct directory

Step 7. Now type the following command on the command prompt window

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Now the recovery is installed on the HTC One. And you are ready to start the Root process on your device.

How to root HTC One on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean

Step 1. Now your HTC one is Unlocked and Custom Recovery is installed on your device.

Step 2. To root you devcie download these files on your desktop Download SuperSU or Download SuperUser

Step 3. Now connect your HTC one with PC via USB cable and copy anyone of the downloaded file on your your HTC One SD card.

Step 4. Now Switch off you device and boot the device into Recovery Mode. To do this press and hold Volume Down and Power buttons together to boot the device into Bootloader mode. Highlight Recovery With Volume + or – then press Power to select it.

Step 5. Now Your HTC one mobile phone in recovery mode. From the recovery menu select install zip from sdcard then select choose zip from sdcard. After that browse download files that you copied to your device on Step 3. After the Use the Power button and confirm installation by selecting Yes on the next screen.

Step 6. Once the installation process is complete on your device, go back to recovery menu and hit the reboot system now to reboot the HTC One.
