The new updated Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to release this month with lots of new features and improvements. But if you can’t wait for the new update and want to try the Android 4.3 on your Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505, then here is a chance for you to test the leaked Android 4.3 Test Firmware I9505XXUEMI8 on your GT i9505. The firmware is only for the i9505 users and it is a test version for the Galaxy S4 phone, not the official or final version. Thanks to Sammobile, who recently posted the leaked firmware version on their blog with all the details. According to them, firmware is the test version, but works fine without any problem and the firmware improved color reproduction of the screen display and the text looks even much sharper then the previous firmware.

Pre-requisites and Requirements

a) Before following the guide do take the Full Backup of your Android Apps, SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, Bookmarks. Looking for more ways to get the Backup your android device click here. b) Once the backup files are saved on your device or on your desktop, Enable USB debugging mode on your device, read the guide here how to enable USB debugging mode.

c) Make sure that your Galaxy S4 battery is full charge or near about 60-70% battery level.

d) Download the Latest Samsung USB drivers on your PC and install it to start the update  process. You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide.

After following the above mention steps follow the below mention guide one by one to update Galaxy S4. All the above mention steps are very important, so do follow all the steps and do exactly what is told.

Step 1. Download the Galaxy S4 Android 4.3 I9505XXUEMI8 firmware on your desktop and extract the folder.

Step 2. Once the firmware is saved on your desktop, download the ODIN application on your desktop and extract the folder.

Step 3. Both the important files are on your desktop. Turn off your device and boot it into download mode, to do this Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons. Press Volume Up button again to enter into Download Mode.

Step 4. Now connect your phone to the computer with USB cable and run the ODIN application on your desktop.

Step 5. Now you should see the blue sign in Odin screen, that means your phone is connected successfully and ready to update.

Step 6. Once the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT i9505 is connected with the ODIN application, do the following: (Do this very carefully otherwise you brick your device)

Select these files from the extracted firmware package(Step 1);

a- Select the PDA checkbox, and click the ‘.tar.md5? file
b- Tap the Phone checkbox, and select the file named ‘modem’ (ignore if such file is not found)
c- Choose the CSC checkbox, and click the file named ‘CSC’ (ignore if there is no such file)
d- Click the PIT checkbox, and choose the ‘.pit’ file (ignore if the file is missing)

[Note: Ignore the last three steps (b, c and d) if such files are not found.]

Next, ensure that the check boxes “Auto Reboot”, “F. Reset Time” and “PDA” are the only check boxes checked and the rest are not. And Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked on the ODIN application.

Step 7. Once all the above mention steps are don on the ODIN app, click on the start button to start the update process.

Step 8. Now the update process will take some time to finish, Once the process is finished you will see the PASS message on your ODIN app screen. At this time you can remove your device from the computer.

Now Galaxy S4 GT i9505 is running on Android 4.3 Firmware. In case at the time of restart your device stuck on Android loop or stuck on Android boot screen, then follow this guide to come out of Android loop.

      1. install cf autoroot from odin.
      2. update su from play store and update the binary by opening super su app.
      3. install titanium backup
      4. freeze apps named knox (2 or 3 there) along with kinox notification manager.
      5 job done
