Guide to Unlock Bootloader of Motorola Moto G
Few days back we written an article about how to root Motorola Moto G Android SmartPhone With Superboot Tool. Today, in this tutorial we’ll show you how you can easily unlock the bootloader of Moto G android smartphone. To root, install custom ROM and install rooted apps you need to unlock the boot loader of your Motorola phone. Here we will show you know how you can easily unlock the bootloader of phone.
The process is little bit lengthy, but not so difficult all you have to install some drivers on your machine and run some ADB commands to with which you will be able to unlock bootloader of Moto G.

CHECK PHONE MODEL
This guide is only for the Motorola Moto G android smartphone. Don’t try this method on any of other Android devices, It may hard brick your device. So, first confirm your phone model number in your android phone settings. To do this Go the Settings page of your device and check out the “About Device” option.
PRE-REQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS
Before following the below Mention guide, It’s always recommended to follow our pre-requisites and requirement to stay safe.
1. BACKUP YOUR ANDROID DATA
Do take the Full Backup of your Android Apps, SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, Bookmarks. This one is one of the most important step that you have to follow, as we don’t want anyone losing their personal data or apps. For help on Backup and Restore check out the below mention guides.

2. INSTALL MOTOROLA MOTO G DRIVERS
You need these drivers to connect your device with the computer to follow this guide. Without these USB drivers you can’t connect your device to the PC, first download and install these drivers on your system.
3. ENABLE USB DEBUGGING MODE
Now you need to enable USB debugging mode. Without enabling USB debugging mode on your device you can’t start the root, Custom ROM or Unlock process.
4. CHARGE YOU ANDROID
If your device switched off during this process, it could damage or brick the device. Make sure that your Android battery is full charge or near about 50-70% battery level.

HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER OF MOTO G
Step 1. Download the Fastboot and ADB files here and extract the folder on your desktop.
Step 2. Now connect your device to the computer with the USB cable.
Step 3. Switch off your phone and boot in Fastboot/Bootloader Mode. To do this Press and hold Power + Volume Down buttons together until you see the Fastboot screen. See the image below:-
Step 4. Now Open the Fastboot and ADB Folder on your desktop. Hold Shift Key and right-click on an empty space of the folder and click on Open Command window here.
Step 5. Now type the below mention command and hit the enter button:-
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
Step 6. Now a string will appear that looks similar to this:
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
Step 7. Now copy all the string. (Please also note that “(boot loader)” must not be copied!). Now go to the official Motorola page here and sing in with your ID and hit the next button.
Step 8. Now paste the (Step 6) Bootloader code on the 6th step in the box and hit the “Can my device be unlocked?” button.
Step 9. Now at the end of the Motorola Page Click on the “Agree” Button and click on “Request Unlock Key”.
Step 10. After a few minutes you will receive an E-email to the E-mail ID (The Same Email ID which you use to sign-up the Motorola Page on Step 7).
Step 11. Copy that code and run this command on the command prompt window with your code which you received in the E-Mail.
fastboot oem unlock [Your Unlock Code that Received on Your Email]
That’s it! The Moto G will now start automatically and the bootloader is unlocked.
